Taraneh joined Hamzehpoor lab as a Ph. D. student in 2026 after completing her M. Sc. in Chemistry at Concordia University. Her research focuses on developing mechanochemical approaches to porous organic cages bearing stable organic radical units. When she is not in the lab, she is usually spending time with her dog Jackie or looking for a good coffee spot in Montreal.
Zuwel started his Ph. D. in Fall 2026 in Hamzehpoor's group. He completed the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master's Degree in SERP+ Program with the prestigious Erasmus Mundus Scholarship and studied at Paris-Saclay University (France), and the University of Genoa (Italy). His research focuses on synthesizing highly porous materials, high-throughput experimentation, and automation to explore covalent doping as one of the few practical routes to build a high-quality computational-experimental database for COFs. He loves to play cricket and enjoys travelling on weekends.

Leilani is a chemical engineering student at CPE Lyon, France, specializing in materials chemistry. She was a research intern at the Université de Montréal, where she focused on the design and synthesis of functional porous materials, particularly three-dimensional covalent organic frameworks (3D COFs). Having lived and studied in diverse international settings, including the United States and French Polynesia, she brings a global perspective to her work. Outside the lab, she enjoys sports, traveling, and watching movies.
Sam began his master’s research at l’Université de Montréal in 2026 under the co-supervision of Prof. Antonella Badia and Prof. Ehsan Hamzehpoor. His current research focuses on the synthesis of novel covalent organic framework thin films using Langmuir-Blodgett techniques.
Jean began first as an undergraduate intern from Université de Montréal in 2025, before becoming a master student in Fall 2026. His work principally focuses on the synthesis of highly conjugated supramolecules using mechanochemistry, for semiconductor applications.
Outside the lab, he enjoys video games, sports, drinking coffee and exploring the world.
Arnaud did his undergraduate studies at Université de Montréal, and did 2 interships within the faculty, mainly focus on organic chemistry. Under the co-supervision of Prof. Ehsan Hamzehpoor and Prof. William Lubell, he's now working on the synthesis of PCFs (Peptide Covalent Frameworks), using resonance acoustic mixing and microwaves techniques.
Outside the lab, he enjoys video games, sports, outdoor arts and chilling around a beer.
